Reflecting on progress: ACOG releases 2024/25 Annual Report

Published on: 3rd September 2025 in the Airspace Modernisation, Company News category

ACOG has today published its 2024/25 Annual Report, showcasing the significant strides made over the past year in advancing the national programme of airspace change.

While the Government’s announcement of the UK Airspace Design Service (UKADS) marks a pivotal moment for airspace modernisation across the Southeast, ACOG has remained focused on maintaining delivery across the rest of the UK.

ACOG’s system-wide perspective, cross-sponsor collaboration experience, and technical expertise have seen the Scottish, North and West clusters advance through key phases of the airspace change process towards public consultation.

Mark Swan, Head of ACOG said: “This past year has tested, strengthened, and ultimately reaffirmed the value of our mission: to deliver a coherent, credible, and nationally coordinated transformation of UK airspace.”

Beyond cluster-specific progress, ACOG bolstered its analytical, governance, and data-driven foundations for more coordinated and optimised airspace decision-making.

Key achievements include:

  • The development of the Flight Path Design Visual Repository (DVR), an interactive, web-based mapping platform offering a uniform view of all existing and proposed flight paths and airspace structures.
  • Developing and deploying a bespoke programme risk management system, enabling real-time tracking of cluster-wide risks, mitigations, and escalation procedures.
  • Completing the first iteration of its Sandbox Environmental Dataset, a modular data environment that simulates and tests the expected impacts of airspace changes across noise, CO₂, and delay metrics.

In addition to all of the programme-related work, ACOG has continued its engagement with Government and other stakeholder groups to provide updates and educate them on why UK airspace needs to be modernised.
